Squish Squash is an Australian Illustration and Animation Community designed with the purpose of providing a bridge for emerging artists entering the creative industries (including Animation, Illustration, Comics or Concept Art).Our Community offers an inclusive space within which to interact with other creatives, share our work, improve as professionals and just hang out! It is intended as a safe space to seek and provide support and encouragement during the process of creating.We welcome you to join us, take part in exhibitions, competitions, share work, resources and upcoming opportunities!We hope to see you soon!

Squish Squash Spotlight Nathan Jurevicius Talks with UniSA about Scarygirl

During the Adelaide launch of his latest Australian film Scarygirl, Nathan Jurevicius told us his story, and of how a character he created 21 years ago has evolved into graphic novels, console and virtual reality games, collectable toys, and now an animated feature film.18/10/2023

Our first Squish Squash Spotlight in Adelaide was with the very accomplished Mitch Hearn who talked about his career journey, revealed the processes behind some of his most successful projects and shared several tips for emerging animators and illustrators during the Q&A session.26/07/2023

Squashtober 2025
5 overarching themes, with seven daily prompts for each theme.
Participation options:Draw something based on the weekly overarching theme, or, draw something every day based on the daily prompts that fall under the weekly theme.Draw whatever you can with any of the prompts!
This event should be a fun way to draw and celebrate the craft of illustration and animation whilst sharing with the community.
